While Hodgdon still had GOEX one the factors they considered in closing down was that it would take 6 months to rebuild the plant. Remember the initial closure came as the result of a fire at the Louisiana plant.
Nothing has been said about a timeline for return to market.
Sales were down for traditional black powder as reenacting shut down during COVID. The evolution of Muzzleloading from traditional primitive guns using lead balls and black powder to the modern muzzleloader using sabot and synthetic powders didn't help.
And of course archaic fire regulations regarding blackpowder and its sale and storage don't help. .
