Well, that answers that question...

Requires that grandfathered weapons be registered under the National Firearms Act, to include:
Background check of owner and any transferee;
Type and serial number of the firearm;
Positive identification, including photograph and fingerprint;
Certification from local law enforcement of identity and that possession would not violate State or local law; and
Dedicated funding for ATF to implement registration

And the revised definition of "assault weapon" would pretty much capture all rifles. Pistol grips, thumbhole stocks, threaded barrel, etc. - under the proposal any gun would now only need ONE evil feature to fall under the ban.

I was about to post the link, but looks like ya'll got it already. Registration is the last step towards confiscation.
