One Million Moms Launches Boycott of Hallmark Channel

An organization of concerned mothers is calling for a boycott of Hallmark Channel. This, after the network pulled an ad showing lesbians at a same-sex wedding ceremony, only to reinstate the ad and announce a partnership with LGBTQ organizations that were critical of Hallmark.

“One Million Moms has just launched an official boycott of Hallmark, and we’re asking our supporters and your listeners to go to OneMillionMoms.com to sign the boycott Hallmark pledge,” One Million Moms Director Monica Cole said on The Todd Starnes Show. “Simply put, we’re asking Hallmark to reconsider airing commercials with same-sex relationships.”

The same goes for Hallmark movies with same-sex relationships.

“As long as they are airing controversial topics and content that is no longer family friendly, we have no choice but to change the channel and to boycott the Hallmark channel,” said Cole.

The ad in question is from Zola.com.

Cole believes it should be left to parents to decide when and how to bring up the subjects of same sex marriage and homosexuality to children.

“We have seen this play out over the past decade from the Boy Scouts to what happened with Chick-fil-A and Salvation Army,” said Todd Starnes. “Here we are facing the Hallmark Channel backing down in the face of this horrible bullying at the hands of the LGBT movement.”

“We don’t boycott often, so, we’re extremely serious about this,” replied Monica Cole. “Hallmarks is one of the very few family-friendly networks still available for family entertainment.”

When One Million Moms caught wind of the ad from Zola.com, Cole said her organization contacted Hallmark and was thanked for bringing it to the network’s attention.

“They know many of their viewers are traditional, conservative families,” said Cole. “We gave them an opportunity to do the right thing, and the pledge to boycott the channel is the result of their change of heart over the weekend.”

One Million Moms is a division of American Family Association (AFA).

They also don't care that the supporters of the LGBTQ-whatever movement is likely a very small percentage of the American populace. It is all about virtue signaling so that they don't get in the news because the LGBTQ-whatever people are boycotting them.

I never understood that.
If I'm producing a whatnot and making money from it, while 1% of people do not like whatnot's, why should I GAF?
Why should I cater to the whims of the 1% and change my whatnot to satisfy them?
I don't understand that line of thinking.

Likely it is because either the "staff" (think millennials) or company ownership/management are liberal themselves and can't imagine them being boycotted/protested against what they consider a "special" class. Ownership/management should take the philosophy that if any employee refused service or otherwise protested against cops, they would be fired immediately and actually fired. That might lead to employees having a different perspective on how others (not just cops) should be treated.
