Also, is it just me, or does ot seem like today's shooters own more firearms than they did in the past?

Large percentage of CC holders alone will have at least two sizes of pistols.

I don't know of anyone who has owned firearms who got rid of them, but I do know a large number of people who owned no firearms years ago who do now.
