Construction has pretty much emptied the shopping center at 51st & Lewis. The wine and cigar store next to Parkhill Liquor shut down two weeks ago. All that's left in there is Parkhill, the gym, and the tag office. When the wine and cigar store was closing, the owner told me that on top of all of the construction traffic issues the city is changing the height of the road and the shopping center is going to be required to to redo the parking lots to accommodate a substantially lower road height. Honestly I think the only thing that will survive is Parkhill in that shopping center.
