I just use a piece of dow cut off in a 20 round magazine to limit the cartridges to 5. I know 7 is the legal limit, but 5 ensures I am compliant. It's crude, but it works.

Thanks Guys and dlbleak, you the man! I will PM you. My granddaughter wants to try this year in lieu of her little 30-30. So we will see how it goes.

I used a piece of wood inside the mag. Drilled a small hone and put a small
wood screw into the wood to keep it from moving around.
Then painted it an odd color of brown.
That makes it easy to make sure I have the right one.

Worked great for a very petite woman to be able to hunt.

If you need help making one, pm me, we can do it.

Awesome, best of luck to her! Personally, I think the .223/5.56 AR, with the right ammo, is a very good deer caliber. If I should ever get the opportunity to go myself I'll be using my 6.5 Grendel AR.

With AR mags, slip the bottom plate back and insert dowel rod. Paint / mark to identify.

Plenty of public opportunities, Brandi. Go for it. Season be here soon.
