Friend was a fireman at Mendenhall in Great Britain. His job as a fireman was to mist down the SR-71's when they came back and landed. They were so hot from air friction that the pilots had to wait until the skin was cooled down before they could exit.
Amazing aircraft whose technology was developed in the 1950's.
