I about spit my Subway sammitch up after reading this.
The defense lawyer for some of the 9/11 co-conspirators wore a hijab and asked other women in the courtroom to, in order to not "distract the defendants, who would be "committing a sin under their faith" by looking at them."

The comments are quite entertaining.

Politics about the whole scenario aside (and that's a WHOLE LOT of discussion to put aside), it's an interesting defense strategy at the very least.

I was fine with that woman wearing the garb, thought it a bit odd since she's not Muslim, but whatever. Then I read that she'd petitioned the court to make every woman present do the same. I about choked.
Great idea, let's cater to the sensitivities of the defendant.

This is beyond ridiculous. I hope the other women wear mini-skirts and show some serious All-American cleavage. Last time I checked, this is still the U.S.A.
