This was a first for me yesterday. I got home from work around 6:00pm and as I pulled in the driveway I noticed something a little different in the front yard. A fat full grown groundhog was eating my wife's flowers. We have deer, racoons, possums ,tree rodents , turkeys ,and armadillos throughout the year but, this was a first. I live on a deadend street in Ponca City that borders some woods. Last Sat. when I got home from work I had to drive between four deer to get to my garage.

I saw my first groundhog at our house in Osage county last year. Didn't know what it was at first, but a call to the wildlife dept local office told me it was a groundhog. I texted them pics for confirmation. I was told they are uncommon, but not rare in this area.
