How is it Walmart has a 3 box limit

But a case box is one box. three case boxes would meet the 3 box limit criteria. That's why they work at WalMart and not NASA

I bought a number of 1k-round boxes of .22 (before the limits). It's still one box. Not sure if that's what you mean.

Sometimes they use the empty boxes to put ammo in because their plastic sacks don't hold much weight, but I wouldn't think you would need one to carry only three boxes of ammo.

i saw this guy walking out with the 100rd box that the ammo is shipped in (still had tape on it) but then i walk up there and ask for the .223 and the guy says 3 box only... so what gives?

most of those are "buddy deals". like the kid at Dicks who told me friday they got 8 cases of .22 in and he "sold it all in 3 minutes", then a few minutes later tells me that he sold it to three guys. they did have quite a few other calibers in though, should have bought some of that 35 dollar a box .243 lol

Nothing to worry about. None of the walmarts I have been to in the last week have any ammo except for some shotgun shells and a few misc .40s.
