Dang, it sounds like we have our own politicians in the A/C business. I took a course once in heating and A/c and the instructor said that they looked forward to spring because they have a lot of compressors to replace because people turn the heater off of the compressors in the winter time to save money and forget that the heaters have to be on around 48-72 hours to force the freon back in the lines otherwise the compressor will lock up and burn out. Also, the cost of parts-they buy it and increase the cost by 75%. Another story he told me was a widow on Social Security called him to come repair her nonworking refrigerator, He cane out found a leak and fixed that and replaced the freon and when he gave her the bill she said she didn't have any money and that she was on a fixed income and could he come back on the 1st of the month? He came back and again was told to come back on the 1st of the next month and when he returned she said she didn't have the money so he reaches in his toolbox and pulls out a sharp object and walks past her and punches the freon line in her refrigerator. Class act, he could have said, "Lady, I know you're having a hard time and don't have the money-consider the work I did as a gift. But he didn't.
