IDPA Sunday April 13 Oil Capital

Our next regular IDPA match at Oil Capital Rod & Gun Club is Sunday April 13th. Set-up commences at 0730, sign-in begins at 0900 and safety meeting/stage/walk-thru promptly at 1000. Entry fee is $12 ($10 for OCR&GC members). This will be a 6 stage match with something around 100 required rounds. Cost to shoot the Classifier is $5 ($0 for OCR&GC members).

The weather is questionable for a Classifier following the match. As the forecast refines in a couple days, I plan to announce to those on the Classifier Wanted notification list if we will have one following this match. Not on the Classifier Wanted list? Send a PM to me asking to get on it.

We will be shooting our regular Saturday April 26th IDPA match at its usual time and place.

Thanks for coming out all. Results are out to the shooters in a BCC email. The match turned out just fine despite the trepidations of some. The weather prediction changed about midnight; the meteorologists pretty much nailed the time of the rain correctly. A pretty good drizzle fell at Oil Capital from about 0700 to around 1030. We got a couple more minor burps of rain which didn’t dampen the shooters desire to shoot the match. The folks to the east, towards the Arkansas line, received the bulk of the 50-60% of the rainfall promised for the area. Still the wet was enough to delay set-up a bit. We used weatherproof targets throughout. The perky south winds turned into a 35+ MPH hurricane about 1230; tough to keep the stages up and running but we did just fine. We finished up the match at about our usual 1400 time. A Classifier followed for those who wished to shoot it.
