This. If the Ipad came with hookers and porn-stars, you'd still have to use iTunes at some point in your day if you want to do everything with it (the iCloud is great and all, but there is just no way to avoid the cancer that is iTunes). That fact alone makes me cringe when thinking about i-Anything. Having had two apple products that took a dump on me (update did one and the hardware crapped on the other), I can say that when things work perfectly, all is well, but as soon as you have issues - good luck hitting forums for answers and the Apple's "Geniuses" are anything but helpful when you have a real question. Getting my wife's info from her iPhone and onto her new android phone almost took an act of God without iTunes (because iTunes did one of it's awesome updates that snuck in some stuff it doesn't ask you about and pretty much destroyed itself and rendered her laptop almost unusable). That and after her 3GS (arguably one of the toughest pieces of hardware Apple used) was on its 2nd screen (and then they replaced the phone altogether) before it started having button problems again and we just gave up on it. The best Apple product I own is my old 80Gb iPod Classic and that's only because I put RockBox on it instead of Apple's crappy un-self-aware interface.
