FIL has what they call Sundowners. In the morning he is OK, as the day progresses, he sees relatives walking across the yard outside his window and doesn't know where he is. Terrible situation, but they don't know the difference. It affects the family worse than the patient.Yeah, the way that disease works is certainly nonsensical. When my FIL was going through it, he mostly never remembered his wife or daughter. However, he'd almost always say, "Hey Mark" every time he saw me --- even when I was with his true family.
We did pick him up early in the morning yesterday and took him to MIL in a different facility. They really enjoyed the time together, but it was a short visit.
