FGSTers - I was just in a town called Sierra Vista, AZ. It is a little podunk place with a just under half the population of Lawton. Yet, I found three (3!) gun stores and two more gun carrying pawn shops all within 2 miles of the front gate of Ft Huachuca. Then on the way out of town about 5 miles there was a spot with two gun shops next door with competing sales signs!

Why, oh why, are we blighted with gun shops that are few and hidden away like they are porn stores - all in OK, the reddest State in the Union?

I suspect it's the same reason many national retailers shun (or tried and left) our little corner of paradise - city government run by real estate investors coupled with corrupt city officials and their small-minded minions flexing their muscle to make themselves feel important in the only ways they know how. Not to appear cynical however.

Last time I was in Sierra Vista I was 4 years old. They had a toy shop with some of the best toy soldier displays.

Well, as I sit here satisfied with sore hands and smelling of sweat...
No, not what you think!!!!

I also smell of burnt gunpowder and oil!!

Two BIG shoutouts to our resident Wild Bill Simms.

First, he was kind enough and thoughtful enough to get me a book on my new acquisition of a Thompson.
I have been reading it and getting lots of interesting information.

Thanks again!!

Second, he reminded me a while back to keep my magazines loaded and keep as many as I could
So, today I got a chance to get away to Firearms solutions in Duncan.
Since I had taken Billy's advice (and he always reminds me that it was my advice to begin with!!) I got serious trigger time in!!

Just finished reloading the mags.
27 mags in an hour and a half!!
15-G23s, 10 G19s and 2 G21s.

It was a good afternoon!!

Dave
