I caught that after. It’s a 4566. I inherited it so I’m not really familiarThat's not a 4506 though?

Thanks Snattler'. Appreciate the explanation. The fondness keeps getting strong. For the Smiths, that is.1911---------------------------------------------------5906

A 1911 is a single action gun with a manual safety and a grip safety. It has a single stack magazine of 7 rounds (45). The grip angle for me is just dead nuts on when I bring it up to eye level.
The Smith 59 family is double action with a manual safety that operates in reverse direction from the 1911. The redeeming feature of the 59 is the staggered magazine holds 15 rounds (9mm). The grip angle is too steep for my taste.
The Model 39 is the same style gun but is single stacked like the 1911. It looks to have the same grip angle as the 1911 also. I don't know, I've never held one.

So is the Colt MK 3 Lawman. In my book, one of the characters is armed with one and I describe it as a very rugged gun, 'Colt having built it like a tank'.They are tanks. Heavy hunks of steel that you can depend on. Not the coolest, not the lightest, just a good dependable firearm. I have fed mine everything from factory hollow points to reloaded lead ball.
