He made a mistake on the case wall thickness, probably a typo. Should read:
"As a general rule, and rough estimate, you can count on a handgun case wall being right around .010-inch thick." Not .0001-inch thick.

I was told recently never to crimp non-cannelure bullets, even lightly. I have always put a very (and I mean very) light crimp on .223/5.56 and recently .308 with out any noticable difference as compared to non-crimped, which is where I started out.

What i have noticed is some rounds OAL shortening, especially in the bottom of the mag on my 5.56 that I wasn't crimping, and thus started.

My recent .308s (with light crimps) were very accurate, had good velocity, and had no over pressure signs.

Old wives tale or cold hard facts?
