I've been to Fouled Bore a few times in the past 2 months. I think it'd work out pretty well for us. There are basically 2 long ranges out there, that sort of 'cross' each other, and a shorter pistol range on the northwest part of the property. The first shooting range has 2 covered shooting areas, but only 1 bench. Be prepared to bring a shooting table, or to shoot prone. There is also multiple other shooting platforms such as cars, large tires, etc. that they use for competitions. They have a 100 yard target for sighting in, then targets start around 300-400 (can't remember), and then go out in 50 yard increments out to about 1500, then there's a really far target (white truck and some steel) at about a mile. The second long range goes from west to east. I've never shot on that range before, but from range #1, I can see an elevated shooting platform, and I'm sure there's other features out there. I've just never been out to that range. I spoke with the owner once and he said that that range is used more for competitions. There is plenty to steel to shoot that way, as well as a giant old station wagon with steel targets around it! Nothing really short distance on that range. I'm guessing all targets are least 500 yards and further. There is also a pistol range with multiple steel targets. Shortest target from the shooting line is probably 20 yards, with assorted steel going out to about 50 yards. The owner is Justin Watts - 405-933-6395. He is a very nice guy. Normal rates are $30 to shoot all day. I'm betting he'd be willing to make a deal if we brought a group. It might be worth calling him. They just need some more benches. That's the one shortfall I see here. I'm not keen on shooting prone for long periods of time. I thought about building my own simple little shooting bench that is collapsible that I can take out there for future visits. Here's a few other pics - it's hard to get perspective and see the targets, but the range out there really is fantastic. Also, if we do go end up going to this range, be prepared to get a little dirt on your tires! Nothing is paved once you get off the county road.
