I'm thinking of buying the 18.5" home defense model. Anyone have this model? How do you like it? Is this able to shoot slugs too?

Friend of mine does. He has had it over a year and does truck gun duty mainly. This thing has not had an easy life. Will shoot buck and slugs. Seems to be very reliable. Just when i shot it, I told him I prefered my 870 better but thats what I have shot since I was 12.

I only saw the 18.5" and 28" barrels at Academy. Where do they have a 20" available?

I prefer the 500. It's built better, has a better warranty and is made in the U.S.A.

It is assembled in Texas from Mexican components. Big difference IMO.
