It would have been a revolver, but I've already got a bunch of those, and the HP is the high water mark of semiauto pistols. Along with the 1911, everyone should own one.

Does yours have the mag safety still in place or was it remove?
I've only ever handled hi-powers with the mag safety still in place.
I have heard that if you have it removed (correctly) it makes the trigger pull that much better...

congrats you are gonna love it. I just cleaned my hi power which I bought in 1978. $279.00 out the door and I was so broke I had to pay it out over 3 months!. sure glad I did.
