[QUOTE="jbrentd, post: 2872387, member: 24925"] I decided to spend some birthday cash, that had been burning a whole in my pocket, on some sort of vintage Mossberg rifle. It's just the kick I'm on right now. This one is my third and the oldest one I own. It's a model 35 single shot bolt action, made sometime from 1935 to 1937. Mossberg's first take on a target rifle. I found it on Armlist and the shop was willing to sell and ship to a C&R holder, like all shops should. Sometimes you run across people that won't. Anyway, I think it's in pretty good shape and can't wait to get it out to the range. It came with all of the original sights, swivels, etc. The rear peep sight aperture is adjustable...you just rotate it and the size of the hole changes. I thing there are 4 sizes. Although present, the front sight is buggered up and needs to be replaced. I have another one on the way. And there's a small blemish on the right side of the pistol grip. Do you think a couple coats of Tru-Oil will blend that in? Other than those two items, I don't really see any other issues...which is nice for an 80 year old gun.
