Quadruple murder: four women shot at Fairmont Terrace

Police say south Tulsa homicide victims in late teens, early 20s

Tulsa Police are investigating a quadruple murder at the Fairmont Terrace Apartments in south Tulsa.

TPD believes the victims, four women in their late teens and early 20s, were shot and killed around noon on Monday. Police say the initial 911 call was made just after 12:30 pm.

A three-year-old child found with the victims is in protective custody. Police say the child was not physically hurt.

Police were alerted to the crime scene when a friend of one of the victims went to check on the women and discovered the bodies.

Police have not released the names of any of the victims; however, Larry Powell says his twins, age 23, were two of the women shot to death. Powell says the little boy is the son of one of his daughters.

Police were dispatched to the house after getting a 911 call at about 11:55 p.m. on November 1, 2012. When officers arrived they found 20-year-old Deyonta Dunn and 19-year-old Phoenicia Dorsey dead in the living room.

Police say they appear to have died from gunshot wounds. Authorities say there didn't appear to be any forced entry into the house and little signs of a struggle. http://www.newson6.com/story/199838...t-to-death-inside-a-tulsa-home?source=related

The pair were discovered by a relative of Dunn's. Family and friends of Dunn say they had been looking for him all day and hadn't been able to reach him by phone.

Just heard from a family friend that her sister-in-law experienced a home invasion this afternoon out by Shawnee Lakes.

She was home alone and there was a knock on the door which she ignored for one reason or another. Whoever was knocking started crashing the door. She armed herself as two Hispanic males gained entry. She didn't shoot, but they took off as soon as they saw the gun.

Haven't seen a police report so these third hand details could differ but but it's a good reminder. If you have family that is ever home alone during the day, have a plan. Make sure they practice it.

used to think it was best to not respond to knocks on front door. now firmly on board with need to respond by challenging all knocks to front door (with loaded firearm) ... loudly "Who is it?" NO way door is opening unless I recognize the voice.

challenge all knocks to your front door ... someone could be checking to see if anyone is home before kicking in front door. there's always the possibility they will kick door in anyways, knowing you are behind door. but more likely they will find an easier target.

_CY_, good points. Same discussion being had at my house. There are many times that we have just ignored a knock; kids napping or whatever...that will be changing.

I agree with challenging the knock, My niece just last week had a person knock a couple times and did not answer the door, seen him leave and then went to the back room and saw someone walk by her window and try to open the back door. She ran to the bathroom and called 911. Police did a good search but and found nothing.

Shawnee police are investigating a home invasion situation that occurred Friday afternoon at a residence in the 32000 block of Homer Lane near Shawnee Twin Lakes.

According to initial reports in the case, the occupant reported there were three Hispanic males knocking at her door before they busted in through that front door.

According to call notes in the case, the woman had a gun pointed at the men when they came in so they retreated and fled in a maroon SUV.

Pottawatomie County deputies responded to the scene as well as Shawnee police, who are investigating the case.

A motion sensor trail cam captured photos of a vehicle and possible suspects at the home Friday afternoon and now police are using those photos as part of the investigation.

Anyone with information is asked to call Shawnee police, 273-0989.
