You hear about these home invasions on a daily bases and they wonder why legitamite gunowners fight so hard for our right to keep and bear arms. I for one am never gonna stop fighting the gun control activist who think only the military and police should be the only ones allowed to be armed.

was pretty skeptical of offenders getting caught, given circumstances... late at night, masked with no one around, etc...

thanks again.. Tulsa PD!!!
can't help but wonder if mass reduction of Tulsa PD had anything to do with the current spike of home invasions in Tulsa?

Tulsa seems to be having way more home invasions recently than say OKC...

2 in custody after pharmacy robbery, home invasion

Published: 7/25/2010 11:29 AM

Two people are in police custody after a pharmacy robbery and home invasion in south Tulsa.

The two robbers were armed with a pistol and stole drugs and money from the Walgreens at 7111 S. Lewis Ave. at 6:30 a.m. Sunday.

Aaron Henderson, 26, was arrested after fleeing south of the store and allegedly entered an apartment at 7110 S. Atlanta and trying to force some of its occupants into the truck of their car, police said.

Henderson fled when officers confronted him at the apartments and officers caught him and took him into custody at 73rd Street and Atlanta, police said.

Henderson remained in the Tulsa Jail late Sunday with four counts of armed robbery, two counts of kidnapping and one count each of first degree burglary and possession of a firearm. He had two felony warrants and four misdemeanor warrants. His bond was set at nearly $500,000, records show.

A juvenile whose name was not released was arrested at about noon Sunday after a foot chase with police. The 17-year-old boy is still being interviewed but will at least have a complaint of armed robbery when he is booked, police said.

The juvenile was seen by a resident in the Southern Hills area. Sgt. Doug Brown
saw the suspect, armed with a pistol, in the 5700 block of E. 56th Street. Brown fired a shot at the suspect and missed, but the suspect dropped his gun, police said.

Another officer soon caught up with him and took him into custody, police said.

Man shot in home invasion attempt

Published: 8/29/2010 4:48 PM

A 57-year-old Tulsa man was shot early Sunday in the abdomen in what police said was a home invasion attempt.

The man was outside his home in the 4200 block of North Frankfurt Avenue when two black men with faces covered attempted to enter the man's home around 12:50 a.m., a police captain said.

The victim stopped the men from entering the home. One suspect hit the man on the head with the handle of the gun and the other suspect shot him in the abdomen, she said.

The victim was taken by EMSA to a Tulsa hospital in stable condition.

Police haven't yet released the victim's name.

So is this more of a pattern related to all the Tulsa PD cut backs, or did the big rise happen before then? Spooky.

Put more bad guys in jail, and do so for longer periods. Really, really longer periods. Old school. No parole. No TV. No weights. Chain gang. Hard, hard labor. No fun!

Or use your rights to give them a dirt nap and save us taxpayers some money.

Man shot in apparent burglary attempt

Police are investigating a shooting near East 66th Street and Troost
Published: 9/2/2010 12:30 PM

[Broken External Image]

A man was seriously wounded Thursday when he heard something at the front door and confronted a gunman who was apparently trying to break into a home.

The man was sleeping at a home near 66th Street and Peoria Avenue when he heard a noise at his front door, Tulsa Police Capt. Richard Alexander said.

When he went to investigate the noise, he was confronted by a man who shot him several times in the upper torso. The man was transported to St. Francis Hospital in serious condition, EMSA ambulance service spokesman Chris Stevens said.

The man is now in surgery, and police won't know more until the operation is complete, Alexander said.

Alexander said that it appears that the man was injured during an interupted burglary. A window was broken near the front door, police said.

Alexander said it doesn't appear to be a robbery because there was no indication the burglar knew the victim was home.

The injured man then ran to a neighbor's house in the 6600 block of South Troost Avenue.

Witnesses said that they saw three young men or teens running from the home toward an apartment complex. Two of the young men were believed to be look-outs for the gunman.

The suspects were described as being black, 16 to 19 years old and of average build. One teen was wearing a khaki shirt and plaid shorts and another was wearing a black shirt and dark shorts, witnesses told police.
