There are some ranchers that would like to graze their cattle on federal land for free.
That's what a lot of this boils down to.
They think if they can force the feds to give the land to the states they can pressure the state politicians to let them graze their cattle for free.

They have no interest in buying or owning the land.
They want to use it for free.

Then you get some roid rage 3 percenters and some posse commitatus and some sovereign citizen flakes that see an opportunity to promote their own agenda and the end result is the Bundy confrontation and this one.

"If the locals were so upset why haven't they rallied to the cause. If the locals were so supportive the occupiers wouldn't be asking for video games and dip over the Internet." ....and driving stolen vehicles to the grocery store.

Why aren't the locals feeding them and offering up their virgin daughters?
