Wonder where they got the Bibles? Off their grandma's nightstand? They ruined the street and it has to be repaired at the expense of the working taxpayers.

As much as we have a foul taste in our mouths for actions like that, millions of Americans have fought for their right to do so, some giving the ultimate price or paying the price the rest of their lives with disabilities.
Books and Bibles can be replaced.
The right to protest peacefully can never be banned if our country is to move forward. Amazing changes have been brought on this country by Peaceful protesters.
A bonfire in the middle of a street is a peaceful protest. Repairing the damage should rest on the heads of the protesters though for street repair and debris removal vs tax payers that are not involved in the protest.

The cost should but won't rest with the protestors. They should be working and they wouldn't have the time to protest. All the "free stuff" give to to them by Democrats prevent gainful work and this is the result!

Strange how you forgot to mention this: Portland Police did not engage with the demonstrators but did respond to a nearby shooting, where over 150 rounds were shot. One round struck a woman, per the Portland Police Bureau:
