Does anyone know of someone who does this? at a resonable cost. Just traded for an 11-87 and reciever has had rust that was steel wooled off, the overall finish is rough. Thanks

You might consider some of the modern bake-on finishes. If you catch your wife gone you can do this with a regular oven (stinks like hell but doesn't stay too long if you air the place out). If you scratch it, just patch it and cook it again. and it's much more resistant to rust and rough handling than bluing.

It's not like an 11-87 is an heirloom that you want to preserve for your progeny. CB

If you are not trying to preserve the factory look and want durability, ask R&S if they will Parkerize it for you, I have heard they can(not positive though) and it is a much tougher finish...

There is a smith in El Reno that can blue in matte or full polish. Call Gene Sears and they can give you the number.

Sadly, not any more unless there used to be two. If your info is current, please let me know who it is, but the guy who was a bluing expert lost his FFL sometime back and closed his shop. CB
