I have my grandfather's Ruger M77 Mk II in 22-250. I want to keep and use the rifle, but the caliber isn't one im interested in. Are there any smiths in Oklahoma that can do a barrel swap. Also if not in Oklahoma who do ya recommend? Last question will ruger sell a barrel or will i have to order from a barrel manufacturer?

I don't know if Ruger would sell you a barrel, but there are lots of options out there from quality after market manufactures. As for a 'smith, I'd contact Steve Baldwin at Mechanical Accuracy in Jones.

ETA: I just googled Steve's place and it says "Temporarily Closed." Anyone know what's going on?

That’s a beautiful rifle. I like how the grain runs evenly down the stock. Looks like a standard profile barrel. What calibers are you considering?

I appreciate the feedback about keeping it as is, but it has just sat in the safe for years. Im not wanting it rebarreled because i need rifle in those calibers, rather i want it as something that i will enjoy shooting and will be useful for the things i like to do.
