My current 6mm rifles are a 1962 or 63 vintage Remington 700 BDL carbine (20" barrel) and a Browning A-Bolt with 20" barrel in .243 WSSM. Don't currently own a .243 Winchester, but our local WM has a Ruger American .243 for $357 that keeps flirting with me. :grumble: .243 rifles are the most popular guns among the group I've deer hunted with for 40+ years in SE Oklahoma. My 'go-to' gun for many years now is the 6mm carbine loaded with 87 grain Hornady bullets over IMR4350. That rifle also shoots well with any powder/bullet combination I've tried from 55 to 100 grains. I'm just getting acquainted with the .243WSSM and it is super accurate; currently using 58 grain Hornady bullets over IMR4895. I was surprised how much this new wave cartridge loves the old school IMR4895. Cedar Creek
