I am curious what makes this a "Silhouette gun"? I always thought the Silhouette was basically an unstamped 29-2 with a 10 5/8" Barrel. Are you referring to the adjustable front sights?

S&W designated it a Silhouette model and it has the correct 4 position front sight. I used to have a 6" 586 Silhouette and it was a fantastic gun. Unfortunately my best friend talked me out of it and it was later lost in a burglary.

Wish I had a matched pair in .357 & .44 Mag, but they're out of my price range now. Someone should snatch this up, so I don't keep looking at it!

I've never fired this one. Heard the 4 settings are like 25, 50, 75 and 100 yard settings?? Really don't know much about these. Everything I've heard about this model is these are tack drivers and wish they would of never sold them LOL.

I saw one guy at the OKC Gun Club. Free handing his, had three holes out of five at 100 yards. And would repeat it all day he said. He was shooting a .44spl hand load of his own recipe. Iron sites and no scope, no rest. I was impressed to say the least.

I have this same gun I bought when I had an FFL in the 80's. has not had more than 20 rounds fired through it (near new conditions) with black pachmyr grips from factory. Where did you find the value? I was guessing to be around $1300 - 1600.
