S&W Model 36

Everyone, I have a S&W model 36 snubnose that i'am trying to get some information on. can anyone enlighten me as to when the gun was made and the values they have. Thank You for the help.

the first few digits of a serial number will be a start....

That said... a nice 36 will bring $350 to 500 in some markets... there are a few variations that will bring more than others.

The serial# starts out as 691***

That serial number range puts it in the late '60s, I believe.

Does it have a dash (number) after the model number stamped in the frame?

flatwins, it does not have a dash anywhere. the serial number is on the butt of the gun and there is no dash. thanks

Flat twins is talking about the model number, not the SN. Open the cylinder, and look at the frame that is behind the crane when the action is closed. You should see a "M36" Flat twins is asking if there is a "-#" after the model number.

I'm sorry guys, i looked and there is NO dash or # sign. it shows mod.36
I'm wanting to trade it for a Tauras Millenium Pro 9mm to carry when i ride.
