The Tulsa Airports Improvement Trust is now a completely separate operational entity from the City of Tulsa. The Tulsa International Airport (TUL) terminal is currently posted with "gunbuster" signs on the public side (adjacent to the curb). To date I am unaware of any citations being issued for the state charge unlawful carry on the public side (land side in airport-speak). There have been numerous citations issued on the air side, which is what happens when someone carries a firearm into the security checkpoint. I do not know if TAIT will enforce those gunbuster signs on the public side and since no citations have been issued there, I'm unaware of any state preemption test cases on it. Due to the sensitive nature of my position there, I have a strictly "no comment" policy on the legality of posting the public side of the TUL terminal. Caveat Emptor
