Catastrophic failure of the victim selection process.
The guy in the red chose concealment behind a tent instead of diving over the counter for cover.
I can kinda see his thought process on this. The tent was not anywhere near a cash register or guns and he was unarmed. It was also close to the door for a quick exit. If he would have gone over the counter, he would have cover but the owner might have mistaken him for another BG and he would have put himself into a fatal funnel with no way out.
