side saddle clearance

i have a pardner pump and i put a side saddle on it but when you try and chamber a round the pump hits the side saddle would it be safe to trim the end of the fore grip for clearance or should i buy a new one? thanks in advance

please disregard just got it apart and it looks like ill be able to trim it without harming function thanks
