The first firearm I ever purchased was a Ruger Mark II pistol with a 6 inch bull barrel. The seller told me, "Whatever you do, don't take it apart-- you won't get it back together."

I took it home, worked the action a few times, and then--I took it apart.

And I couldn't get it back together. So it went into a box for a couple of years until I finally figured out the trick to getting the mainspring housing latch closed inside the housing.

So I feel the OP's pain.

There's no shame in asking for help in reassembling a revolver. I've done it, but it's not easy. In fact, I think that reassembling the 1911 is easier.
