I have a PMR-30. Awesome pistol at low light as a lot of unburned powder ignites after leaving the barrel as a crowd pleaser.
Great trigger but it is most reliable with the factory recommended ammo and lots of lube.
It is a rifle round by design that has a recoil impulse a lot of manufacturers in the past haven’t solved for reliability in pistol and semiautomatic rifles.
AMT is a premier example. I can go into detail if anyone is interested.
S&W has a great reputation. Hope they don’t sully it by bringing a new pistol to the market that will be unreliable with a broad range of ammo.
I’d buy one if proven reliable.

I typed the above post on my iPhone.
Just switched over YouTube on the smart TV.
Guess what videos just hit my feed?
Yep, you guessed it, a S&W review on the M&P .22 magnum.
Think your smart stuff isn’t following you?
The firearm is not suppressor friendly by design.

I have yet to have a failure to feed on my PMR-30 or misfire or hangfire. I do think the M&P appears more ergonomic, has a magazine release on the grip instead of the heal, looks higher quality and would be a good contender. I was excited about the Honest Outlaw Video and thought I'd like one, but 7 failures in 300 rds? May be a good compliment to a M&P 5.7 which I really, really like (it's on my list.)

I was down on the river. Shot a old rusty sign with my 22 rifle loaded with CCI Stingers, Impact just nocked off some rust. Had brothers Colt single action 22MAG shot the sign it went right through the sign.
