WWII era.
I bought a “lot” of knives several years ago and got a Kabar. Mine is newer production.
My dad served in WWII on a floating dry dock stationed in Shanghai China. War ships were brought in to be repaired.
He built a knife from a file with leather pump seals compressed to form the handle.
I carried it for many years in my tackle box. He told me to never drop it as it was brittle.
I dropped it, and it broke. Wish I'd put it in a drawer and left it as he gave it to me.
