I acquired a police return Mossberg 590A1 that definitely had been carried - the metal finish has numerous scratches, so it's a definite candidate for a Cerakote refinish. My question concerns the Speedfeed stock; it also has a number of scratches, mostly superficial, and the remains of a rack number label that left the surface rough underneath the label. I'd like to try and save the stock since it fits me nicely, and the unobtrusive shell storage is a neat feature.
Have you folks been able to remove scratches from such a stock? If so, how'd you do it? I'd prefer not to paint the stock, though a Cerakote refinish might be OK if it'll stay attached to the flexible plastic.
