I have a Nice Samsung. Its a pain in the Butt. Ice maker never worked right, would always freeze up. the reason is because the design of the ice maker compartment, it doesn't insulate very well, causing the ice cubes to thaw and refreeze. Had to thaw everything out and take it all apart, and reseal the ice maker compartment with silicone. Hasn't messed up since, but I probably wouldn't buy a Samsung again. I also broke one of my shelves in the process, which you cannot buy unless you wanna pay $70-100 for secondhand plus $30 shipping from ebay. I don't have much input on what brand to buy, but I do want to offer this: Every local store competes against each other, and most offer price matching/beating. I went to Hahn's and got a quote on a Fridge that I knew Lowes and Home depot could order. Asked about military discounts, which they don't offer, but the salesman "hooked it up" with a few bucks off. I had him print it out so I could "take it home to the old lady to approve". I then took that quote to Lowe's, who matched that quote, and then offered 10% off the competitors price. I had them print it off for me and then went to home depot with the lowe's quote, and at that point I got Home Depot to beat that quote, and gave me $50 better deal per appliance I was purchasing (I was also buying a washer and dryer for my new home at the time), as well as free delivery and installation. I then applied my military discount and walked out of the store feeling like I stole my new appliances. I'm sure you could negotiate other discounts, if you arent military, like first responder/senior citizen/healthcare. Sometimes just asking can get you a discount that they don't actually offer, but are willing to knock a few bucks off. It takes a little foot work, but you can walk out saving a good chunk of money with a days work.
