Conflict of interest much? Surefire LLC lobbied for the NDAA after receiving a DOD contract to provide equipment your gubmint will need to bulldoze the bill of rights.

If we are pulling out of Iraq and Afghanistan, what is all this stuff for? Night-raid gear? These are basically made to blind people as they awake from you busting down their door, not for open combat.

In a night firefight you don’t want any lights near you whatsoever. That gives the other guy an easy target.

Let’s see, if you’re going to get rid of the Bill of Rights, you might as well get rid of the First Amendment as well as the rest of them. Don’t worry; the feds are on the case. Another proposed law - SOPA - would give the feds the power to shut down websites that they don’t like.

Two points:

1) The NDAA encompassed more than just the detainee issue....Surefire has no stake in that part. The NDAA funds the military on a fiscal year basis....strong funding means more business for people who provide .mil gear. Surefire would've been dumb to not lobby for it.

2) Surefire makes more than just white lights and "night raid gear", WTF that means, and has been awarded .gov contracts long before this current NDAA. The linked website's ranting about night raid gear etc....is tin foil hat material written by someone who has zero clue about modern military equipment and tactics....
