I had a 454 casull raging bull maybe 20 years ago.
It was a pretty crappy quality gun, but I didnt know it then.
Made cool fireballs though.

I have one that I bought about 6 or 7 years ago. I love it. I took it to H&H Sunday and shot it. It is a very straight shooter. It does kick, but it does not hurt my hand the the Redhawk 44 mag. I bought it to hog hunt. I no longer hog hunt, but I love the gun. Plus if you do not want to shoot the 454 you can run 45 long colt in it.

I had one in .480 Ruger for a couple of years. It was actually fun to shoot. I had to reload for it because of expense but I always enjoyed it. One of my shooting buddies talked me out of it and shoots it to this day. It was not a Smith but I saw no real quality issues.

SMF Solutions in Duncan had a 454 Casull in their gun case for quite a while. I think they have it on consignment. Phone number is 580-470-9508.

Just sold my 454 8 3/8 about 2 months ago. I wasn't really impressed with it, had it 8 years and finally sold it. If you want a quality well made large caliber pistol go with a smith, ruger, freedom arms. Taurus makes low end guns, you don't realize the quality, fit, finish they lack until you own one and start seeing the real deal.

With that said I would go the the 6 1/2, the longer barrel makes it less balanced. If your going to scope it make sure to get three rings, two just won't due.
