As the GM of a pretty reputable service center, I can tell you that we have some pretty pricey repair bills go out of this place due to people following advice they follow on the internet from someone's brother in law etc. We do not service Scion, or I would give you a recommendation regarding your transmission (If you buy a BMW I am your guy). The advice I can give you would be to first follow your owners manual service recomendation first. But also call a couple of Toyota stores and speak to the service manager about your car. Those guys can tell you what to expect based on what they have been seeing for several years and hundreds of cars. And getting a couple of opinions should get you a consensus. Then you can make an informed decision.
