Ok I traded for a nice 220 Swift built on a Turk mauser. I took it to the range and couldn't get it bore sighted. I lack about 10inches at fifty yards getting it on target. I did a little research and it had the right bases but the front ring on the action is .030 smaller than a standard 98 I am thinking about shimming the front base .015 and trying it. do any of you have any thoughts LMK Thanks RG22lr-

Shimming should work. Can you tell if possibly the top (only) of the receiver ring has been reground? I've seen some turks that were ground and restamped, captured rifles, I think. Also some Smiths will remove the crest for cometic concerns. The reason I ask is that by my rough calculations, you may need to shim more than .015. But its late and I'm probably wrong.
