Trying my hand at some stacked leather

I'm working on a stacked leather hunting knife. This one will have CPM154 stainless steel blade with a brass guard. Spacers will be brass and green. I'll try to post a pic of every step so you guys can see how this knife is progressing.

So here's a pile of material. I rough cut the blade. Heat treat is next

took a brass bar for the guard and fitted it to the blade. Some trial and error but I think I got it.

Ramping up to 1950 degrees

All shaped, heat treated. Guard is fitted and spacers and leather cut. Ready to rough shape the guard and then braze a bolt to the tang.

Each spacer is cut and slotted to fit over the tang

I ended up with 38 pieces. Now to epoxy and stack them in order.

Roughed out with a 36 grit belt just takes a few minutes

Heat up the leather and let some bee's wax absorb into it. We're almost done

All done! Sharp as a laser beam. Just need to tool a nice sheath and it's getting shipped off

Man, that is a terrible looking knife; you shouldn't be sending that to a customer. You can just send it to me and I'll take care of it for you as a favor.
