This is long overdue, but all the talk in the model 66-2 ad made my wanna drag out my 19-3 snubbie for a little luvin' and before you knew it, I was snappin' pics of her and dad's old Victory model.

Now keep in mind, both of these old irons have lots of years and lots of miles on em and they probably ain't worth much in dollars, but they're priceless to me.

First up, let's look at dad's Victory model.

I know...she's as ugly as sin, but it's the very first gun I ever fired as a youngin.

Dad said he bought it in 1956 from a man named Hog Epperly. He and his wife ran a hamburger joint way back when and he bought and sold guns, gold and other things from folks. Dad said he paid $35 for it. It is a pre model 10, born back in the mid 40s just after WWII ended, hence the Victory model name. When Colt couldn't make enough 1911s for our troops, the DOD employed Smith & Wesson to build a 6 shot revolver in .38 S&W. Most of these M&P K frames were parkerized, but a few were nickled, converted to .38 Special and had those ugly plastic stag looking grips on em. When dad gave it to me, I had to ditch those heinous things, so I searched and searched for some era correct stocks for it. I finally found some, slapped em on it but decided to leave the ugly ones on it. Because suddenly with the grip change, it became "my" revolver instead of "dad's" revolver.

Like I said, she's ugly as the day is long, but I love her with all my heart.
You should get a factory letter on this one. It would add to the history.
