I’m with you. I have a daughter in 9th grade who as been in trouble at school 6 times. First time was in kindergarten. A boy continually harassed her. One day he pushed her too far and she knocked him out of his chair with a textbook she was holding. That was handled with a simple phone call to me. 3 of those times, she was standing up for someone else. No repercussions. One time, 4th grade, she beat the living crap out of a boy that put his hands on her. We have a great principal who I respect a lot. She called and told me that due to the severity of the beat down (took 4 teachers to pull her off as she pounded his head into the floor), she had to give her detention. A whopping 2 hrs after school for a single day. . When I picked her up, I asked if there was any follow up needed. Principal said, nope. All is good. Then she whispered to me, “The boy had it coming.” I asked a few days later if the boys parents had complained? Principal said, “Really? If your son was beat up and bloodied by a girl, would you complain?” And the last time she got in trouble, she was just being a hormonal beotch. That was all on her. My point is, our principal has a lot of common sense and decency, and isn’t afraid to back a kid that is in the right. That is something lacking in most administrations these days.
