I wouldn't call it the best but it works. I also op'ed for the key lock.

Seems like a steel cable and lock alone would be just as effective.

That doesn't let you store an extra mag like the locked box does.
It also doesn't protect your gun against scratches and dirt or keep it out of sight.

To each his own, I don't need to lock up an extra mag and I'm not worried about scratching the Glock. And, I could keep a pistol out of sight just as well or better than a conspicuous lock box.

I just got a Console Vault with a combination lock for the center console of my Dodge. It is big enough to hold a pistol extra mags and other items as well. It fits in the console without being visable from the outside.
