I inherited some land. Sold it to a company called Catholic Health Initiative. St. Joes Hospital now sits on that land, along with about a dozen Offices. That was my "lot of money". Next I Payed close attention when we were negotiating a Union Contract, overheard a conversation about expanding the Company (UCI) and eventually build a water treatment plant. I attended a city council meeting that Charles *******(CEO of UCI) attended an inquired about buying some vacant city property. I did a little research, found some land with old factories on it that was close to the Schuylkill river. I bought that land for change. I sold it to a overseas owned corporation (INDEVCO) Which happens to own UCI. I held on to a small tract, right next to the river. When the time was right, I sold it, again to UCI, to build a waste water treatment plant. The sale of this land made me a whole Lotta money. The only break I've ever gotten in my life was marrying my wife. Her dad inherited the land, made me promise to sell it, then died, leaving me the land. All the rest was just a dumb Okie, paying attention and using my gift of reason. So Hoov, clue me in. Did I use this "capitalistic market" ? Are you still drawing that paycheck? Let's hear your story of how your using this great market. I've laid mine out.
