OKLAHOMA CITY -- A homeowner shot at least two suspected home invaders late Wednesday night Oklahoma City Police reported.

The shooting occurred at 201 N.W. 87th after 10:30 p.m. One suspect collapsed near the house and another suspect was found two blocks away. The homeowner told police she may have hit the third suspect as well.

The incident began when the homeowner investigated when an alarm was triggered about 8:30 p.m. She confronted three suspects robbing her house who then fled.

At about 10:30, the suspects returned. The homeowner open fire and hit at least two of them.

Police were not sure if the suspects were inside or outside the residence when they were wounded, but they said it appeared the shooting was in self defense.

The two injured robbery suspects were transported to the hospital. There has been no report on their condition.

They came back?!? Darwin award? News 9 reported this morning that the homeowner was transported to a hosp for chest-pain complaint...

That was some good shooting on her part. Crying shame she had to come down with the chest pains. I wonder if the chest pains she gave the intruders was contagious?:rotflmao:

Yeah for the home owner, to bad she was not able to eliminate the BG permenantly. Anyone get any names of status yet of the BG and if we will continue to have to foot their medical and housing needs for the next 10 years?

i am sure there is alot more to the story, i am also sure everyone here will jump to conclusions before the rest of the story comes out!

LOL ... well of course ... what fun is a newstory if we can't jump to conclusions about the major players and disparage everyone from the home owner to the "alleged" assailants to the police department and how they handle the situation ... oh, yeah ... and the DA ... don't forget to talk trash about the DA ... ;)

A man opened fire on two teenagers he said broke into his house and hit both of them, police said Thursday.

The man, identified as Michael Gulley, 54, was inside the house at 201 NW 87, and told police the two boys removed burglar bars from the front door and kicked in the door Wednesday night, said police Master Sgt. Gary Knight.

Two more teenagers got away, including one who was arrested and another who has not been caught, Knight said.

Gulley opened fire and struck both boys, Knight said. The boys ran off despite being hit.

Kristen Franklin, 15, who was wounded, collapsed in the 200 block of NW 85, Knight said.

Anthony Ricks, 16, who turns 17 on Friday, was wounded and ran to a house in the 200 block of NW 82, Knight said. Police arrested him there.

Olajuwon Hopgood, 16, was arrested at the same house where Ricks was found.

Franklin and Ricks were taken to a hospital for treatment. Their conditions were not available.

Knight said he did not know where the boys were when they were shot nor did he know if any of the boys had weapons.

Gulley told police he thinks the same teenagers had broken into his house a couple of hours before the shootings. Gulley said two televisions and some shoes had been stolen about 8:30 p.m. when he came home and saw several juveniles running away and the burglar alarm going off.

OKLAHOMA CITY -- An Oklahoma resident shot two robbers who were in their second attempt to burglarize a man late Wednesday night, police said.

The incident happened at a home on NW 85th Street and Robinson Avenue. According to police, the homeowner said he came home Wednesday night to his security alarm going off. Investigators said his arrival startled three robbers, who took off on foot.

Almost two hours later the trio of robbers returned, but this time the homeowner was armed. The owner told police he fired at the intruders several times.

Two of the robbers were taken to the hospital, police said. One person was shot in the stomach and the other in the rear end. Police said that one person was in serious condition and the other in critical condition. A third suspect ran away. He has not been caught.

The homeowner was also hospitalized, police said, for a short time after complaining of chest pains. Police believe he suffered an anxiety attack after shooting the suspects.

The homeowner was not arrested. Police said this is an ongoing investigation, but at this time it appears the case fall's under Oklahoma's "Make My Day" law. The law allows homeowners to use deadly force to protect their property.

The law will soon apply to business, too. Governor Mary Fallin signed a bill into law this spring that allows businesses to protect their property with deadly force. It goes it effect Nov. 1.
