My wife get's impressed when I watch a show and start naming the firearms used. She does get frustrated though when I start talking about the technology. "Gee, I wish I had a computer that could render that much data in a second like that."
Due to federal law, they have to get the uniforms slightly wrong. If you see a correct US military uniform in a movie, then that person is actually in the military. For the Transformers movies they were going around and getting active duty miiltary to fill the extras slots for realism. They came to my base and had auditions. But, yeah, I hate seeing one rank and hearing them say another(Lts wearing Capt bars, etc...)

I know your supposed to watch it for entertainment, but something in my makeup refuses to be entertained by ignorance.
one thing to be slightly wrong - but I see too many seriously wrong things as a whole which some does go beyond uniforms.
growing up some of that was beaten into my head and then later in life was a way of life, so it may just be something I pay way too much attention to.
Depends on the revolver. It can be done on a Nagant. I've heard it can be done on a Dan Wesson.
Pay attention to many of the old black and white WWII movies... pinks and greens with civilian shoes.
Pay real close attention to old BW movies...you will see Martini's and all sorts of guns in the background representing Mausers, etc. The only gun that close to right is in a close up.
