I personally think duck face is an avoidance strategy... make ugly faces so people can't call you ugly or some stupid crap like that.


While bowling I had a buddy who would start goofing off if you were beating him. He'd start bowling backwards, through his legs, or with his weak hand. Stuff like that. He always did that when he would start to lose, then he would say "Of course I lost, I was just goofing around."
Whatever. Just one of those quirks you have to deal with in your friends.

Anyway the duck face reminds me of that behavior.

I was at a martial arts tournament when I was about 15, (point) sparring in a team class with two of my instructors. The guy I was sparring against was a 40-something instructor of one of the schools at the tournament. I started winning, and he got pissed that he was losing to a brown-belt kid and started acting like a jackass, flagrantly opening himself up so he could play it off that he let me win, so I made him feel it. I hate people like that.
